Garlic Deep In History
The first garlic seeds to be sowed by Kiwi Garlic was in the 1950’s (check year) by J. Manga (check name) after immigrating to New Zealand in 19XX (insert year). He literally sowed the seed for what is today known as Kiwi Garlic (trading as J. Manga & Son) to become the 2nd largest grower (check) of top quality garlic in New Zealand.
Grown in Pukekohe, which is located 40 minutes south of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand, Pukekohe is known as the ‘food basket of New Zealand’. This is due to the presence of dark fertile volcanic soil which is perfect or growing fresh fruit and vegetables all year round. The Pukekohe area contains a large number of market gardeners who grow a large variety of fresh produce for local, national and international markets.
Today Kiwi Garlic is run by Director and Business Manager Ajay Manga. Born and raised in Pukekohe, Ajay has grown garlic for most of his life (check), only taking a break when he was Head of Garlic (check/insert role) for T&G Global, New Zealand's leading distributor, marketer and exporter of premium fresh produce. His vast experience of not only growing garlic, but of the markets and suppliers allows Kiwi Garlic to grow and supply a quality product.
